These terms apply when you visit thelightdata.com and use The Light Data’s tools and services.

This English version is provided for convenience only. If it differs from the Vietnamese version, the Vietnamese version prevails.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using any tool on The Light Data, you agree to these Terms of use, the Privacy policy and the Payment & refund policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the service.

2. Accounts

You provide accurate registration information and keep your password secure.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, change your password, revoke your sign-in sessions on the Profile page and let us know.
We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.

3. The service

The Light Data provides tools for model design and simulated data generation, AI questionnaire building, automatic Google Form filling and SPSS-ready data encoding, together with consultation and data analysis services. Features may be updated, changed or temporarily suspended for maintenance; we try to give advance notice of major changes.

4. Credits and payment

Paid features are charged in credits according to the Pricing in effect at the time of use. Topping up, holding, charging and refunding credits are governed by the Payment & refund policy.

5. Permitted use

You agree not to use The Light Data to:

Work with Google Forms that you do not own or that the form owner has not authorized you to use.
Impersonate survey participants, distort research results, commit academic fraud or present simulated data as real survey data.
Send spam, unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others.
Violate the terms of service of Google or of any other third-party platform.
Scan, attack, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorized access to The Light Data’s systems and application programming interface (API).

Research integrity

Data generated by the Model designer is simulated data, intended for learning, illustration and testing research designs. You are responsible for complying with the academic-integrity rules of your institution and of journals.

6. AI-generated content

Questionnaires, variable names and codebooks suggested by the AI assistant may be inaccurate or unsuited to your context. You must review them, check the sources and edit them yourself before any formal use.

7. Ownership

The software, interface, brand and article content on The Light Data belong to The Light Data.
The data, models, forms and files you upload remain yours. You allow us to process them to the extent necessary to provide the service.

8. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is”. Form-filling results depend on the Google Form at the time of submission; Google may change how it works or reject responses in ways we cannot control (unsuccessful submissions are not charged). To the extent permitted by law, The Light Data is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. A new version takes effect when it is posted on this page with its update date. If you continue to use the service after that, you accept the new version.

10. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam. For any question or dispute, please contact us through the channels on the Contact page so that it can be resolved in good faith.
